Wanted to share something that was plaguing me for a few weeks…
My Mac App Store Profile image wouldn’t update to the new image I was using across all devices and on my Apple ID account. I followed the results from countless internet searches all of which kept pointing me to my Apple ID account or my Mac profile image, which I had already done.
I then came across something completely different, which I nearly ignored, however glad I read the post. It was referring to App Store cache and issues with apps not updating, this got me thinking, what if my image issue was really just as simple as the stored cache on my Mac.
So I got to work searching for com.apple.appstore
found the caches folder at:
~/library/containers/com.apple.appstore/data/library/caches/
Found the offending image with a really long meaningless name:
AAProfilePicture_EA2CE9D1-39FA-4E80-B731-C06EB9691DBC
Deleted it and hey presto the App Store retrieved the correct image from my ID account and updated.
Apart from this and a few minor things I wouldn’t ever go back to using a windows computer.
I get far more done productively on my Mac than I ever did on a windows computer.
