i put my sim in an old phone (Microsoft), used it fine yesterday, now its asking me for a password. I can’t put in my last phone’s password to unlock phone as there are no letters on keyboard!!

Is the phone actually asking for a password? If so, then you may need to reset the phone to factory settings if you no longer recall the password for that Microsoft phone.
If it’s a PUK code you’re being asked for, then please let us know, as that will be related to the SIM card and we’ll need to take some further details from you to assist with that if need be.
