Cancel account disconnection and change monthly contract to pay as you go

I bought a £8 (15gb data, unlimited texts and calls) monthly contract and I want to change to pay as you go. I have not used the plan yet. 

I was trying to cancel the contract to get a pay as you go and now my sim card will be disconnected in 17 days.

Please help.
