Can I upgrade to a new phone but keep my SIM only contract

I'm happy with my SIM only contract deal, but when looking at the potential new phones they seem to have contracts attached to them. Is there a way of having a new phone but retaining the SIM contract separately?
Thank you!

Hello @Davidsheppy,

Welcome to the iD Community!

If you upgrade from within the iD App/Account to a handset contract, this will be for a new 24-month contract along with the SIM deal you chose for that contract.

If you take out a new contract, you will keep the current SIM-only deal and then get a second SIM deal with a handset. This second deal will have a new number.

There's nothing stopping you taking out a new phone contract and then just using the current SIM in the new handset. You'll need to continue making payments for the new contract as well as the old SIM in this case.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: I've moved your topic to the section Plan types, upgrades & plan changes for clarity.
