Change of plan

I have just changed my plan online as my current one ends on 6th June. I have moved to a £6/month sim only. I have has an email telling me that it is being processed but on the order it tells me I have to update my direct debit?? Nothing has changed so why do I need to update anything?

Also am I going to be charged for the £6 and for the next month of the previous contact when my allowance updates on the 1st of the month?
