Got an upgrade and a new sim?!

Hi all, 

Just got an upgrade a few days ago on the app, changing from a monthly rolling contract to a 12-month contract.

 

My app quickly adjusted to show the extra data etc. so i thought that was that.

 

But I got a new sim card in the post today? I was under the impression I could keep the existing sim as I’d done upgrades in the past too.

 

Can anyone help?

 

(Also, and that might have been causing the confusion - I actually asked for the upgrade twice as I thought the first payment hadn’t got through)

Also, it’s just a plan upgrade. 

I am keeping my existing phone.

Hello @mq90,

A new SIM is sent with an upgrade in most instances, but not required to be used.

The old SIM, as long as it works and the plan shows in the app will be okay.

 

We do recommend activating it as we’ve seen that some customers accidentally activate the replacement SIM in the future, thus leading to a loss of services and no longer having that SIM card/being out and about.

To avoid the inconvenience it’s easier to just activate it and forget about it.
