upgrade payment problems

At end of 24 month contract (paid by direct debit), looking to upgrade to sim only deal. I get stuck at the 1p payment I think this is because

  • the name on the account isn’t the person paying but
  • the direct debit is already set up and has worked for 24 months
  • the card used to try and pay the 1p matches the direct debit and registered address.

Hopefully some way around this as parents must pay for their kids phones . What is the 1p for anyway?

Are you currently still within the 24 month contract?  Or has this now ended?

 

Technically speaking we would need the name of the account holder on the iD Mobile contract to match the same name as the one for whom the Direct Debit bank is being set up with.

Furthermore, the address on the iD Mobile account and the address on that bank account would need to be the same too.  This is to help prevent against fraud.

Please update your address with your bank or on your iD Mobile account if need be if something isn’t matching.

Any 1p payments made to date for transactions that have failed will be automatically refunded within 3-5 days if not sooner.
