I've just arrived in France and have already incurred 10 lots of roaming charges. Why is my inclusive data not being used?

Hi,

We are sorry to hear about this.

Is your roaming enabled on your account?

Does it state what the charges are for?

Thanks for your reply. Could it be 'roaming at sea' charges as a result of losing the free WiFi connection on the ferry temporarily? No ime stamp or other info to go from!

Hi @Mewright ,

That is very likely the case.

Roaming at sea

You’ll be subject to ‘Maritime roaming’ charges, even if you’re travelling between any of our ‘Inclusive Roaming’ destinations. For more information, and to view the charges, select ‘Roaming’ above, and then ‘Ships, Ferries, Cruise Liners’ on the dropdown.

Thanks for this.  It looks like you're quite right, as no charges incurred today whilst in destination country.

Hi @Mewright,

I’m glad we got to the bottom of this and we are sorry to hear that the Wi-Fi connection went down whilst aboard the ferry. You can turn off ‘Data Roaming’ within your phones settings if ever you are on a boat again in the future (or outside the EU) to stop the mobile data kicking in automatically.
