Moving to Finland for a study abroad programme for a year, just checking that I can use my sim there at the rolling contract rate I'm already on without any issues?

That sounds like an excellent opportunity and it'll no doubt be an incredible change to the norm over here whilst you're out there.

If you're looking to use your ID SIM over there, you'll be covered under our EU Roaming to allow you to use your data, keep in touch with the UK, and even contact people locally over there too. This will all be covered within your monthly tariff and simply come from your standard minutes/ texts/ data allowance per month.

See here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/eu-roaming for confirmation of that and more on our website.

The fair usage policy contradicts this if you'll be away for more than 4 months, which they will be. It mentions sending proof of strong links to the UK, but is vague on if that actually lets you continue or if you'll still face the surcharges.

Hi @bobobob,

We have the right to question the usage of the SIM when it is used abroad for a prolonged period which is usually at least 4-months. If we feel that everything is fine then you can continue using the SIM with no surcharges (unless you exceed your allowances however).
