No i didnt come from CPW - it was a tesco’s refurb from ebay… it could have had some history i guess but its an immaculate refurb and works perfectly other than wifi calling… wifi calling appears to be a bit bleading edge hit and miss at the moment As previously mentioned by others, if it was on another network (despite it being unlocked) there's problem something in the custom firmware that's preventing WiFi calling from working on ID.

Hi, yep i borrowed an iphone 6 to test the IDmobile sim on wifi calling (on the same wifi network) and it worked fine.. tested that before i went and bought the Alcatel 3L..  Oops sounds like the phone then, id be sending it back, lol. Did you have specific reason for wanting the Alcatel?

Hi, no i'd already tried this based on the other comments…  its a brand new SIM-Free phone so as you say I did expect it to work as its on the list… not great as it was bought specifically for this reason as i have no phone signal at home… the list clearly cant be trusted at face value.. is the “Alcatel 3L” support for the 2020 version only?  if so it needs to be stated! Do you have any others phones that you could test your ID SIM in? Or try that phone on a different WiFi network. (Sometimes the problem can lie with the router)

Hi, ive just bought an Alcatel 3L (2019) specifically because its on the wifi calling supported list... but it doesnt seem to work…. is there something i need to do to ‘activate’ it?  Latest sw update applied etc.. Thanks Under network>mobile network, there might be an option to turn on WiFi calling. You can sometimes check if it's working by enabling airplane mode, then turning on WiFi again. If not, you might be our of luck. Please let me know how your get on.

It is on ID as well.  I keep trying to talk to ID  but I cant seem to get a person to talk with. Their online system says it's an agent but they keep just giving generic answers like a robot. I don't know what to do. Maybe daft question, have you tried swapping the sim cards round?

Thank you again for taking the time to get back to me It is on my home network but my other note 8 works perfectly on it !! I'm not sure what else to try. What network is that one on? Have you contacted ID?

Sadly doesn't seem to have worked. Do ID need to activate the SIM for wifi calling?  Are you trying this on your home wifi network? I would suggest you try a public hotspot. Some routers need the correct ports opening up to allow wifi calling traffic. E.g. I found I couldn’t use wifi calling at work because out internet provide had blocked the required ports! I am sure if you try a different place (or two) you will find it works. I have a note 8 on the list, wifi calling is turned on and software updated but still not working.  Any ideas???? Try enabling air plane mode, then turn on WiFi. It sometimes doesn't work if you are in an area of good coverage.

Thanks Will, interesting to know. I'm generally very pleased with Three's coverage and ID is excellent value, so I'll be sticking with the service, at least for now! Dare I ask about plans for 5G? 😁

 Thanks Will, l'll do that. How about: FY3 9JW I noticed it's only for good coverage in Supervoice area but my phone trends to prefer 3G at this location (outside but the way)

Thank you. LA1 1YN, LA23 1AJ and  FY3 9JW   All 3G only, despite having 4G Supervoice phone.

Hi @Kurtph1969 , what type of areas that you’re in when you’re noticing a drop? Have you any example postcodes?   Will   Here you go: LA23 1AJ and LA1 1YN. My phone supports Supervoice but falls back to a 3G signal at these locations.

That is an area of very good coverage Moira. I would suggest trying another ID mobile SIM card or ask a friend on ID (or Three) to try their phone at your location.

800MHZ (Band 20)

Hi, My understanding is that ID uses the same bands as Three i.e. (edit: for 4G) 800MHz (Band 20) 1800MHz (Band 3) 2100MHz (Band 1) (This info from 4g.co.uk. It also mentions 1400MHz for Three but my phone doesn't support this band). I'm now noticing 'Supervoice' (VoLTE) available on ALL bands (previously, this was only available on Band 20). However, my phone still drops back to HSDPA+ in many areas (though I'm unsure why this would be?) Obviously, 800MHz coverage depends on your location. Check the coverage on the Three website. As I mentioned above, Three's Supervoice coverage used to be an indication of 800MHz coverage (as that was the only band that they broadcasted Supervoice on), however, this may have changed now. Could someone from ID Mobile tech support please confirm what bands ID are currently using? Thank you.

I think it's a real shame that ID aren't able to match this deal, we're only talking £1 per month, however, if I can get a better deal elsewhere I will be leaving. Sorry.

Hi @Kurtph1969 The uSwitch deals with all networks tend to be new customers only. Have you had a look at Plan Change options available to you within the iD Mobile App?  Some loyalty deals do show in there, though they may be different deals entirely. Sorry, I don't see any "loyalty deals" in my account. Time to get my PAC...

I've also seen a better deal through uSwitch. Currently they are offering 2GB on ID mobile for £6. My 'switch plan' option says it's 1GB for £6. Why is the better deal not available for loyal, existing customers?

Hi @Kurtph1969  The fingerprint login is still being worked on behind the scenes.  We need to be 100% sure of it’s accuracy and ensure no security exploits can be made through the app on Android. It’s a feature we know people love, so rest assured once we can have it back we’ll roll that out in an update to the App itself.  Fingers crossed the wait won’t be too much longer at this point. As it clearly states in my previous post, the tablet is on Android 9 (Pie). The Samsung Galaxy S5E tab is not due to receive the Android 10 upgrade until July. So clearly, ID Mobile saying that it is an issue with Android 10 isn’t true.
