Any good battery saving tips?

Over time a battery will lose it's ability to hold a full charge due to how the li-ion batteries work. You can do what is said above (looking at apps that use battery, putting in power save mode, turn off bluetooth/location/wi-fi/4g when not using *though a good battery saving app should do this anyhow). I think the best thing would be for you to get a new battery for it - Hikari has given you useful information on how to do this above :) Facebook messenger uses a lot, so does facebook, so if you don't need them, get rid of them.

Transferring PAYG credit from one network to another

If it's with a different service provider they won't let you do this (maybe you could beg but I don't see how any company would allow this as far as they are concerned they have your £100 now). You could keep the sim for that and use the credit with that sim, but if you have a locked phone it'll not work with a differen't network.

Cannot use data sometimes

So the error you are getting relates to apple itself rather than the iD network, going by the error code. So I have a few potential fixes: -Unistall and then reinstall safari (or the browser you use) -Go into settings and make sure you don't have anything linked to a proxy ( I don't have an iphone so I can't tell you exactly how to do this, thouhg if you give me screenshots i might be able to help there) -Go onto your iD mobile account and make sure you enable adult content to be viewed. Sometimes sites can be flagged with this even if they seem to be innocent enough (though not thinking this is actually the problem, but willing to try things). -You could factory reset your phone, or if possible reset all internet settings on your phone to default. If you need any help with any of this just say, and i'll do my best.

Advice for screen protector

Do you have a microfibre cloth? That and some screen cleaning spray? (you should be able to get some together for under a fiver). What i'd do is spray some of the cleaning spray on my clean microfibre cloth and gentle clean in small circles, and then use the dry side of the cloth to properly get all the cleaning spray stuff off as you want the screen to be dry before applying the screen protector. Try and do this in a room that doesn't have too much dust (not saying you are messy, I just know how dust gets everywhere easily). Just so when you are applying the screen protector the sticky side doesn't attract any when you are putting it on. I hope this helps.

Small screen big battery life

Hmmm, what you really need to look at is the battery size when getting a phone, though how you use your phone will affect how long the battery lasts. What phone did you have before? Do you have any preferences of make? Do you have a price limit? What size screen do you want? I personally have a wileyfox phone that has done me well over the years that I bought outright when my contract phone broke halfway through the contract. Though I don't use it that much, and can be a bit slow if i have too many apps open.

Storage problems

I think you are able to turn your sd card into internal storage so it acts like phone storage but that's a bit technical. They do it to get more money out of you basically, as Hikari has explained well. Extra storage cost them more to manufacture, and therefore to make a phone cheap enough they'll often strip as many of the features you see in mid/high end smart phones to get the cost down.

Small screen big battery life

Might be worth looking at the Sony XZ1 or the Sony XA2 as they both have 5.2 inch screen and seem quite powerful from me looking, well, just about the S8 range. It's quite hard to find a phone that isn't massive I find. Maybe they will be helpful as a starting point. I know my mate has a sony phone and loves it, and I've got a sony tablet that's lasted me years, so probably a safe bet with sony.

Storage problems

They do it with chrome books too. They don't even have enough ram to run google chrome properly and the storage size is pitiful, so it's not limited to phones. Years ago a phone was released that only ran twitter, and it didn't even do that properly. I get what you are saying though, it's a good idea on paper, but they'll only overcharge you most likely for the novelty. If you wish I can find some tutorials to format your sd card to internal storage so you could tranfer fb to that, however that'd wipe anything on your sd card.

How to use a Micro SD card

Define use please. Do you want it to act like internal storage? Do you want to put your photos or spotify songs on there? Once you insert it it should mount to the phone and be ready to use. You can check if this is the case via settings -> storage and there should be a portable storage catergory underneath you device storage, and it will show if the sd card is there, how much space is free on it, and give you the option to dismount it.

Smart Lock not working

I recommend that you first going into settings->google->location if possible with your device, and then turn it on and it should give you a mode option. Click on that and select high accuracy, and turn on your location and wi-fi and potentially bluetooth, as it uses these 3 things & your mobile network to detemine your location. If this doesn't work, tell me and I'll try and think of something else to fix this issue.

Remember how long it took to even get 4g off the ground? Well it'll take about that long for 5g to get up and running. Though i've been looking forward to 5g ever since my lecturer told me about it in uni in 2012, it'll be fassssst.

Are wireless chargers worth it? What's the pros and cons?

In my opinion they aren't even wireless chargers seeing as you need to have the wireless charger connected to the mains and the phone must be placed on the charger. They tend to be more expensive than normal chargers. They will need to be lined up properly with the wireless charger also or it can take longer to charge than by a conventional charger.

Earbuds as standard?

The galaxy buds are around £139, so I'm guessing it's a money thing. Either they want to keep the cost of the phone down for people, as not everyone will want the wireless earbuds, or they want you to pay £139 for the wireless earbuds.

Foldy mcfoldface . Honestly though, I don't know. Bender from futurama is cool, so I think that's better than iFold. Though a bender phone may actually sound wrong for a while.

The best phones for under £200?

Wileyfox swift 2 x. It's on sale for £109. I have the wileyfox swift 2 and it's a bit slow sometimes (lack of RAM) but this version has more. They have 2 year warranty too, and the customer service people were helpful when I thought my phone had broken (luckily it was the cable, and I was just enquiring about getting a new phone, but they put me through to tech support guy who said he'd sort it out for me if it wasn't the cable). Has lasted me way longer than my galaxy a3.

How does 5G work?

Well it uses electromagnetic radtion technically, to be really pedantic, but radiowaves and microwaves are created from this, and these are on a spectrum whereby you have different frequncies. Essentially 5g will operate on a higher band frequency to 3g and 4g. 5g will use what is called millimeter waves that are able to send a lot of data at very high speeds but that doesn't travel as far as the shorter frequency waves (4g). They are still experimenting on exactly what frequency to use, and it's still in it's early days. There is a whole bunch of information out there if you really want to look it up, like assigning the frequency bands, and the realyl technical side of how it all works. I think i'd need way more time and a short essay to explain fully though.

How long should I keep my Galaxy S7?

It really depends on a lot of things. Normally with my phones the battery dies/stops being able to charge and if I'm due an upgrade I get one instead of getting it fixed. I am not sure if you are able to take the battery out on an S7 or not, but if you can that'll extend it's life because if the battery dies on you you can replace it and it won't cost too much money. You say that you take good care of it and have a case, so that rules one of the things out, as accidental damage is one of the ways that will cause the phone to die. The other aspect is software, and it supporting updates and things like that. However an s7 was a top of the range phone when it was out, so I really don't think it's likely for them to stop supporting software for it anytime soon. Essentially, summing up, actually I'm scared to give an estimate incase it dies on you tomorrow! But it seems like you might have at least a year or two life in it.

Storage increase for Samsung J5?

Hey [user=10503]Joyrees1[/user] what samsung phone do you have at the moment? It's a hard to tell you exactlly how much better the s10 would be if I knew what I were comparing it too :) I've heard good things about the battery life on this one from doing some reading up so far, but such things also depend on the users usage of the phone.

Is it possible to use some Samsung features without signing your life away to them?

I just use google's find my phone feature. I'm guessing you have a google account if you have an android phone, so at least by using google's find my phone you wont be signing up to another account. Sorry if I'm getting this wrong, I am assuming by giving access to samsung to your personal data that you are trying to create an account with them to use their 'find my phone' feature. When you sign up it asks you agree to the terms and conditions and in that it's saying that by agreeing you are allowing them to use your registration data, personal data and information in accordance with their privacy policy. So I think essentially, it's a no, there is no way around this as it's in the terms and conditions for signing up for a samsumg account.
