First phone

Considering that she is fairly young, she is unlikely to be fully active on social media. She probably wouldn't spend much time scrolling on various feeds, and might instead play games or watch YouTube video. Video streaming takes quite a lot of data, although not as much as continuous scrolling on social media. Therefore, I would recommend from 2-4 GB as a starting amount, then you can adjust from there with ID mobiles flexible plans. Hope I was helpful :)

Earbuds as standard?

The new Galaxy S10 does come with earbuds, although they are wired. This shouldn't be an issue however, as the S10 still has the 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike many other popular phones nowadays. :)

Increasing car Bluetooth Volume

Depending on what phone you have, there should be an option to enable "Bluetooth Volume Sync". If you go to Bluetooth > Advanced, there should be the option to enable this. :)

Small screen big battery life

I currently have a Galaxy S8, and I would prefer a newer high end handset. Budget is not an issue, and I would prefer a screen size or around 5.5" or below.

4G will certainly run for a fair few years yet. 5G is due to be officially available to the public in around 2020, with phones like the Galaxy S10 released recently being future proof and ready for this update. If you look at 3G, or even H+ or GPRS, these are still active today, and they were released pre 2010. 4G will remain active for a long while yet, so you have nothing to worry about. :)

Pay using your phone?

Since you have a Samsung, Samsung Pay is much more optimised for Samsung devices and will likely provide for a much better experience. While Samsung runs Android, which is made by Google, it will likely be more streamlined on a Samsung device. Something to consider however, is that Samsung has fewer banks that support it. You can check whether your bank supports Samsung Pay on Samsung's website covering the issue. :)

Themes/customisation

If you are looking for complete customisation and an ultimate streamlined experience, have a look at Nova launcher on the play store. It offers customisation of the app drawer, as well as icons and it also adds the Google feed if you swipe left on the home screen. I have been using it for years and it has been a fantastic experience. Also it is free, although you can pay to have Nova Prime, with some more features, but really the free Nova Launcher is just ana amazing app. :)

UPGRADE AFTER 6 MONTHS

Hi Jamie, I'm pretty sure that upgrades become available after 6 months even if your credit rating is poor. If you were able to get a sim only contract, then I think you will qualify for a contract phone, although it may depend on the price of said contract phone. :)

Big phones vs reading glasses

The Samsung Galaxy Fold, when it comes out, will be a very costly device indeed. It will come out at around $1980, or around £1600. If you are able to afford this kind of price, and cannot wait that long, the Galaxy Note series are an excellent choice. With the current S10 devices coming out, and the Note 10 arriving later this year, the Note 9 prices should begin to drop considerably later this year. I would highly recommend the Note 9. :)

Which Samsung model to buy

The Galaxy S7 Edge has a larger display, which is curved. They both have really good displays with excellent colours and brightness, although since the S7 Edge has a curved display, it is much more fragile and breakable. The S7 Edge also has a much larger battery, so you can expect bigger battery life on that phone. :)
