If you receive a new SIM card from us and it doesn’t seem to be working, we recommend you check a couple of important things first: 1. Check your coverage Use our handy online coverage checker to find out the signal strength in your area. You can search by postcode - so you can check all the places you usually use your phone, like your home and work addresses. And you can view both 3G and 4G coverage. Need more info on this? Read our ‘How to check coverage’ article. 2. Are you using a compatible handset? If your handset isn’t approved/compatible with iD Mobile, your ability to use our services may be affected. Click here to view our list of approved and compatible handsets. All the handsets we provide with an iD Mobile plan are compatible with our network, as you’d expect. So if you’ve got one of those you should be fine. If you purchased a SIM only iD plan and are using an iD compatible handset you bought elsewhere with it, you should also be fine! Tried the above and it’s sti
Whether you’ve just got a shiny new Android phone (congrats!) or have been attached to your trusty old one for years, here are some of our favourite hacks and tips to help you get the most from it… 1. Track your Android phone There’s nothing worse than losing your phone. That’s where Android’s ‘Find My Device’ feature can help! If you added a Google account to your Android device during set up, then ‘Find My Device’ is automatically turned on. So, if the worst ever happens (fingers crossed it doesn’t, obviously) and your phone goes missing, you can track it down. Just type 'android.com/find' into your web browser, and log in with the same Google account that you added to your phone. You’ll then be able to see the location of your device. Hopefully, it will show your own address, or a close friend or family member. Then it shouldn’t be too difficult to track it down, and you can even make it ring out loud to aid your search (providing it can access the internet, and ‘locat
So, you’re here because you use Google Maps, and well, so do we! Google Maps is a great way to find your way around on foot, on a bike or in a car, no matter where you are. And based on Googles algorithm, you’ll get a reasonably accurate ETA based on the time of day you’re travelling. You’ve also got the option to select if you’d like to visit some amenities on the way! Google Maps is especially popular among Android users as the app comes pre-installed on the phone.Anyway, enough about Google maps, we’re here to talk about alternatives, and there are quite a few of them, but here’s our top two: Waze:While probably not the best app to use on foot, Waze is a community-driven map service that is fast to navigate and intuitive. It’s a highly interactive system that lets users warn other drivers of changes in traffic, roadworks, speed cameras and potential hazards. Because of this, you’ll get a more accurate depiction of how long your journey will take before and during it. You’ll also be

recently ported my old number and it’s finally switched over - but my iphone says my number will expire from imessage and facetime as it’s only registered to my account and not the phone but when looking at the details for my number in settings it’s the same one. i’m really confused and concerned i’m not going to be able to use imessage and facetime soon?
2 days ago I received a new phone, and sim. I sent the PAC code to ID, and the switched occured today for which I received confirmation through text. Following this, I have encountered a number of problems. On sending any texts (not imessage), I get an undelivered notification on every message, but the person I send it to advises they have received said message between 3 to 6 times (I only send it once, and it tells me undelivered).I am also not receiving verification messages. I tried to login to whatsapp, and on the verification call and text part, it does not arrive. Likewise, I can’t add my switched number to my iphone as I never receive the verification code. Therefore can’t receive texts or calls via my number (excluding icloud email).I’m going to give it a few days to try and resolve this issue, however the lack of customer service and these issues mean I think I will be returning the phone within the 14 day cooling off period. If anyone could offer any insight or assistance I’d b
Contactless is the new way to pay – letting you use your phone to get that coffee without needing to grab your wallet or take your debit card out. Google and Apple Pay are essentially wallets in your phone, storing your card info so that you can pay for things with just a tap of your phone. As more and more businesses are becoming card only, and almost everywhere takes card and contactless payments, it’s good to know how to get your phone set up. And what’s the difference between Google Pay and Apple Pay anyway? Well, we’re here to break it down and explain everything you need to know about these payment services.Let’s start with a quick explainer: Google Pay The name is pretty self-explanatory – this is Google’s Pay app. It’s only available from the Google Play Store and is the go-to wallet app for most Android users. You can save loads of cards, including membership (that’s your nectar points sorted) and it’s easy to switch which card you want to use. Key features:- Your information i
NetflixFirst of all, you’ll need to ensure you’re subscribed to the ‘Standard’ or ‘Premium’ plan. The Basic plan will only allow you to stream up to 420p and not Full HD (1080p) or Ultra HD (4K) that comes with the Premium plan. Netflix will automatically stream what you’re watching in a video quality based on your network speed. Now, adjusting your video quality on Netflix isn’t as straightforward as on YouTube; you’ll need to log into your Netflix online account. Once you’ve logged in, here’s how to set your playback preference to HD:Step 1: Select a profile on the home screen (any profile will do)Step 2: Hover over the user icon in the top right corner – this will bring up a drop-down with a list of options.Step 3: Select ‘Account’Step 4: Under ‘Profile & Parental Controls’ select the drop-down arrow on the profile you’d like to set to HD streaming Step 5: Select ‘Playback Settings’ Step 6: On the ‘Playback Settings’ page, select ‘High’ and click ‘Save’ You’re all set! If you have voicemail switched off on your Id Mobile number, then when someone calls you the phone rings for some time and the caller hears the ringing tone as you would expect. Eventually, if the call is not answered it stops ringing, as you would expect, but the caller then gets the recorded message: “Sorry your service does not allow access to this number” This is a rather concerning message for the caller because it suggests that there is some fundamental technical problem in calling your number whereas, in fact, there is no technical problem - the phone did ring but was not answered. Is there any way of avoiding this worrying message being played to callers? I am assuming that the actual voice message “Sorry your service does not allow access to this number” is generated by the calling network but that it is played because of some error response sent to it by the Id Mobile network because you don’t get this message when ringing phones on other networks (typically when ringing pho

On Saturday I had no signal and at times just 1 bar. I had to take my mother to hospital for a procedure and they were going to call and let me know when I could collect her. There was no signal in the waiting room, very little around the hospital I ended up driving home where again no signal or just 1 bar. This made it a stressful day as I could not be contacted by my mobile. I now have only 1 bar of signal. If this continues I will be changing provider..
