Problems changing number for imessage and facetime

I’ve ported my old 3 number in to iD but my iPhone 8 is still using the iD number from the SIM I received to send iMessages and for FaceTime.  Ive tried changing it in settings on my iPhone but the iD sim number is still in use.  Any ideas on how to sort this?
