The number you have called is not recognised

I get the following message when calling certain numbers from my id mobile phone. If use a different network I can call these numbers. Is it possible that the ID mobile network has not been set up to recognise certain number ranges?

Cannot view any videos on Britbox

For the last few days I have had a problem viewing videos on Britbox. I can generally navigate the Britbox site OK - it is just when trying to play a video that the problem arises. The screen locks with the “waiting” circle and eventually gives the Britbox error message “Sorry, something went wrongWe are currently experiencing issues playing your video. Please try again later.”This problem does not happen when using Britbox from other networks (EE is file) but it has been happening consistently now on Id Mobile for the last few days.The only time it has worked on Id Mobile in the last few days is when I was away from by usual location. I was in Bridport and it worked there. I noted the ip address was 92.40.248.60 Once it had worked in Bridport it continued to work for a time at my usual location and I noted that it was still using the 92.40.248.60 ip address Since then it has not worked and the ip address is different (all commencing with 92.40.168 or 92.40.169).

Unexpected response from network

I am trying to set a divert from my O2 number (A) to another number (B) on the IDM network, but when I try to set the divert I get the error message "unexpected response from network".   If I try to ring number B from number A it connects fine, and text works as well, but for some reason I can’t set up divert to number B.   I should add that I have no problems setting a divert from A to any other number - it is just this one number (B) I have problems setting a divert to. I have contacted O2 and they say since it is just one number (B) it must be an IDM issue.

Worrying message for callers

If you have voicemail switched off on your Id Mobile number, then when someone calls you the phone rings for some time and the caller hears the ringing tone as you would expect. Eventually, if the call is not answered it stops ringing, as you would expect, but the caller then gets the recorded message: “Sorry your service does not allow access to this number” This is a rather concerning message for the caller because it suggests that there is some fundamental technical problem in calling your number whereas, in fact, there is no technical problem - the phone did ring but was not answered. Is there any way of avoiding this worrying message being played to callers? I am assuming that the actual voice message “Sorry your service does not allow access to this number” is generated by the calling network but that it is played because of some error response sent to it by the Id Mobile network because you don’t  get this message when ringing phones on other networks (typically when ringing pho

Extra spurious message when using extended absence greeting

If you set an extended absence greeting on voicemail and chose the option not to allow callers to leave messages, a caller first hears your extended absence greeting  Then hear a standard message saying that they can’t leave a message Then invites the caller to enter a phone number if they want to leave a message for *another* number. 1 is what you would expect. 2 is fine. But 3 is rather odd. Why would someone ring *you* if they want to leave a message for someone else?!!! Even stranger, if the caller, when given the option to leave a message for another number, actually taps in *your* number then they can leave a message!  In short - 3 should not happen. How can we stop it?

Unexpected result with divert

I have my phone set to divert to my landline if “busy”.I have also set the “call waiting” option so that the only time my phone should react as “busy” is if I positively decline a call.However sometimes when someone calls my mobile number  it immediately goes to my landline without my phone ringing.I don’t understand why this is happening. I live in a poor signal area and the phone tends to switch itself in and out of WiFi calling mode. I wonder whether this has something to do with it.

Changing plan

I was on an unlimited plan. I looked at my data usage statistics and I thought I was using less than 4GB per month. This has turned out to be wrong. I’m not sure if the statistics were wrong or I misread them. Long story short I switched to a 4GB plan to save money but I now reallise I needed Unlimited after all but it won’t let me switch back until next month. What can I do?
