problem with my texts

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone can help me with this problem I have when sending text messages.    when I send a text message to anyone the message says not delivered and the person I’m sending the text too receives the message 3 or more times which is very annoying.    does anyone know how I can stop this from happening    many thanks  holly
