Undelivered SMS texts to non-iPhone users

  I’ve recently joined this network and imported my number.  I’m having a few issues but primarily, the text messages are only sometimes getting delivered; iMessages are unaffected and working fine. Texts to non-iPhone users are coming back to me as undelivered but the receiver tells me they’ve had it 3 times. I was on live chat for two hours last night, only for the agent to leave me online, unresponsive to me for the final 45 minutes of our chat.  I am in the middle of town and my 4G signal has only one bar; is this poor coverage typical of your service?
