Calls from Vectone mobile

My wife and my son have vectone mobile number. They are never able to call me on my iD mobile number. Whenever they try they hear a strange voice saying "hello hello you have reached a cursed number lewis lewis....". I tried calling iD and Vectone both and none of them accept it's their fault. They both ask me to go and check with the other. Has anyone else had this sort of issue? Thanks, Vinit

Force 5G on Pixel 7 Pro

Hey,To give some context, 5G and 4G both work on my phone with ID. 5G works flawlessly near the 5G tower, and intermittently from my desk. When the phone does connect to 5G from my desk (not exactly sure what prompts it to make that connection) - I get speeds of ~480mbps, which is much better than 4G’s ~10-20mpbs.I’d like to figure a way to force this 5G connection to happen - even if it means I can’t connect to 4G when there’s no 5G available.I’ve tried setting ‘NR Only’ in the service menu of the Pixel, as well as changing my preferred network types in my SIM settings to 5G. At the moment, 5G still only connects (4-5 bars) once in a blue moon and for only a few minutes when I’m at my desk.I don’t seem to have the 5G/LTE Debugging option which allows you to completely disable LTE either.My last and undesired option is rooting the phone to use a slightly dodgy looking app that promises it can force 5G - want to avoid this if possible though!P.s. SIM card Active but I have no service

I bought the iPhone XS Max from Carphone Warehouse in April. At the same time, I swapped from another network to a pay-monthly plan with ID, and I swapped my number over. Due to being in hospital I have only just got around to setting up the new phone. However, when I have put the SIM into the phone, I have no service. I tried all of the tips on the website (such as trying aeroplane mode etc) but none of these worked and so I tried to find other ways around this. When I try to activate the sim, it tells me that the sim is already active. When I try to register a new account, it asks me to enter the 8 digit code that has been sent to me, but as I have no service I cannot receive this message. If I try to log in to an account, or enter forgotten password, it tells me to enter a valid email address. I cannot get any service on the phone what-so-ever, and need it ASAP as I am due to go back into hospital and need my phone. Nothing I try seems to work and I need t

2G always on (Android)

I understand that iD through the 3 network does not have any 2G network coverage, however I am unable to deactivate the allow 2G option on my device. This is significant as localised 2G transmitters can be set up by hackers trying to gain access to devices, and the 2G connection is far more vulnerable than 3, 4, 5G. Security experts advise turning allow 2G off. Can iD update carrier settings to allow users to disable this please? For reference, I am running Android 14 beta 5.

cannot receive 8-digit security code to register my new iD Mobile account

I am new customer with an iD Mobile “data SIM only” card in my new Nokia tablet.It works well, giving internet access (but not tel calls).However to register my account on iD Mobile I need a 8-digit “security code” from iD Mobile. Whatever I try I cannot get the SMS message to be received by Google Messaging App on tablet, though the Messaging App receives other msgs fine.My tablet SIM as far as I know is not designed to receive ‘mobile call/message’ with the type of SIM card it has - so I assume I’m supposed to connect/ pair/ tether my mobile phone (which can make calls/ messages) with my tablet.Nothing seems to work.  Any ideas?

EU roaming fair usage

I am thinking about buying an iD Pay Monthly SIM on a 30 days rolling contract for travelling in France and Spain this summer. I was looking at the £20/month option with unlimited data, but wondered whether this has a fair usage policy - i.e. if I used for example 20GB I would begin incurring extra charges.

Hi. I’m not able to get one tome passcode messages from HMRC which is causing me real problems. Never had a problem with my previous network. I have an iPhone SE, does anyone know how to fix this please?

Replacement SIM apparently activated but not working and NO support

Hi, I know this is during this period of self-isolation but really lost as to what to do next as there is no ID support. Just before the period of self-isolation, I had to report my teenage daughter's phone as lost and order a replacement SIM. This arrived I placed it into the replacement iPhone 6S and activated it online. All good. Unfortunately, the SIM does not work and states ‘No Service’. I’ve tried all the advice online and even swapped in the ID Mobile SIM from her brother's identical iPhone 6 and this works perfectly. Been testing and waiting for 7 days now. As there is no chat or online support now at all, understandably, can anyone advise what to do next? The only option I can currently think of is to simply cancel the ID account and get a new number/SIM from a company that can help. I would really prefer not to have to do this. Thanks in advance.

Help please! Transferring number from EE to ID

Hi all, I’ve searched a couple of the threads and everyone seems helpful here. I purchased a new phone and inserted my PAC number when completing the transaction. Phone arrived - great. Switchover day happened and I received a message to say that the number had been transferred. Yet, I was still receiving calls to my old phone. Spoke to the live chat person just now that was incredibly unhelpful and did not help at all. Said that I need to contact EE - I don’t know why. The tech team would contact me and then started putting me through a complaints procedure. Please can someone just help me understand what I need to do to get the calls to come through to the new phone? I thought that once I gave the PAC code, they transferred the number and deactivated the EE account. Maybe I misunderstood? Thanks all.

Keeping Old Phone Number After Upgrade

Hi, I have upgraded my contract with ID Mobile and I would like to keep my old sim card with the old number. However, the new upgrade with the extra data has not automatically updated on my old sim. After researching some topics on this website I noted that if you get a new contract then the old sim won’t upgrade and you have to use the new one. However, I have logged into my account to check that I do not have two contracts open with ID Mobile, which I do not. All my texts/emails from ID have also highlighted that I have an upgrade. When I initially bought the upgrade, it quite clearly said upgrade in the checkout and not new contract. Any idea on how I can get the old sim to update with the new upgrade information? Thanks, Nicola

I'm travelling to Greece soon. The place I'm staying has good WIFI. I will send whatsapp messages and pictures and use the internet when there. I will send texts there and also when not on WIFI. What should I do about roaming and mobile data?

Porting number issues

I have brought my number from Tesco mobile and was given the date of 19/06/23 for my number to port.The port did not happen on that day. I contacted live chat and they offered solutions to rectify such as resetting network, switching off imsg etc, none of which worked.I was told the complaint team would contact me within 48hrs, they have not.I was told the technical team would fix this within 48hrs but they have not.Initially my ported number was making/receiving calls, now it will not receive incoming calls or SMS and states invalid number so I don’t know how the complaints team are going to contact me as they have not at this time.I cant access any of my apps as i can’t receive OTP from Apple, whatsapp etc.The live chat have advised that they are still waiting for my previous provider to ‘transfer files’. This is now five days after the port date and still nothing. I find this hard to believe and was under the impression the new provider were to facilitate the porting process?Does th

Extra charge for receiving a TXT message

Hello everyone, So I’ve recently moved from Vodafone to ID, and today I’ve noticed on my bill I’ve got extra charge for TXT message £12.34, message is domestic and message was sent from UK mobile number, when I’ve checked this number in my contacts it’s number from my agency (UK mobile number), so when I’m booked in for work in our booking system, I’m receiving a TXT message (with a link) and email. Then I’m logging in to the booking system to confirm the shift, you not sending any txt message to this number as there will be no reply, so I’m just wondering, why am I charged for receiving a txt message and it’s mean now that every time I’ll be booked in for work and receive a text message, I’ll pay for that message, despite I’ve received it not send it.

Cant connect to hotspot while roaming in Spain

Just arrived in Spain, android phone connected to Movistar after creating new APN, calls, text, data all OK on phone. Set up a hotspot in order to use laptop but cannot connect, message 'No internet, secured' displayed on laptop. New APN is:Name: iD APN: id MMSC: http://mms.um.idmobile.co.uk:10021/mmsc MMS Proxy: mms.idmobile.co.uk MMS Port: 8799 Any ideas what the problem is ?

My phone has stopped charging?

My phone has stopped charging, and I will no longer be able to use it once the battery has died, how can I resolve this considering the call centres are closed and there is no way to contact Id mobile? I can't pay for a phone that isn't working

Can't text premium number

Hello,   I am now unable to text premium number 60110. I’ve got enough in my cap limit and premium services shows as on.  I was able to successfully text this number in 15th March. Not it bounces back as failed.   Thank you

Register for app on iPad

Hello, I’m trying to register on my.idmobile.co.uk but need to be able to receive an sms message with a code in order to do so, which doesn’t appear to be possible on my iPad. I can’t put the sim in my phone as it’s locked to EE. Just wondering if anyone knows a way around this? Thanks!
