Question

Changing my plan from a phone contract to SIM only and keeping my number

My 24 month contract is ending and I want to change to a SIM only deal and keep my current handset and phone number. On the app/website, it only lets me upgrade to a new phone, or when I go to “change plan”, the new plans there are much more expensive than the SIM only deals (considering I’ve already paid off the price of the phone in the past 24 months).

I want to switch to a SIM only plan, but how can I do this without getting a whole new SIM card and number? I ordered a new SIM because I couldn’t see another way to do this (using the same name, email address, details etc), but now I feel like ID hasn’t processed that I’m the same customer just trying to change plans.

Will I need to cancel my original ID contract, lose my number, and start from scratch? Surely there must be a smoother way of changing plans and keeping my phone number?

Looking forward to your help!

hey @East,

Int he last 20-30 days of your handset contract.

Log Into your account and click My Account > Upgrade and select SIM Only.

You can upgrade to a SIM only plan this way, retain your number and other details and keep the phone.
