Made plan change, still being sent new SIM?

I've just changed my plan and my new data allowance is showing in my account, but I've just received a text from ID saying my new SIM is on the way. Why do I need a new SIM when I want to keep my number?

Did you Change or did you Upgrade your plan?

When you upgrade with iD Mobile, they’ll send out a new SIM card in case your existing SIM doesn’t fit in the upgraded phone.

Anyway, the upgrade SIM card is not activated, so just carry on using your existing SIM card.

Keeping your existing number is part of the process with the iD Change and iD Upgrade options.

Many thanks. It was a plan change so as you suggest, I'll just keep using my current SIM and not activate the new one.

As @andewhite says we send out a new SIM card more or less as a precaution and to be on the safe since in-case for whatever reason you can’t use the old one.

 

Keep using your current SIM if you can! If you need a replacement, you have it there!
