What exactly is an upgrade?

An upgrade is when you change to a new plan with us, and get a brand new handset. You also get to keep your existing number when you upgrade. Technically, you can also upgrade to a SIM Only plan, but it's much more convenient to simply do a plan change for that.

Upgrading is a great opportunity for you to own one of the very latest smartphones without paying lots of money upfront. You can keep your existing mobile number, and you can also choose a different set of allowances if any of your needs have changed since the last time you chose an iD plan.
