I’ve downloaded the Uber app but for some reason the activation code isn’t coming through by text and they have advised that it maybe that iD have blocked it.

Sorry to hear that.
Have you recently joined and ported your number?
Double check that the number is correct on Uber’s registration process also.
Try restarting the handset and re-requesting this.
