What are the special symbols acceptable in an ID password. I have been unable to find them on the site and so far two of the ones I chose are not allowed.

Hi @Mabel,

Welcome to the iD community!

The special characters that are currently available for use are:

*@!#%&()^~{}$

Are you having any issues with using the above characters?

The £ symbol is not there but it worked for me. Why are they not listed in the website or appear on the pop up screen when the passport is rejected.

Hi @Figgis,

Thank you for the suggestion. We'll make sure this is looked into to offer a more user friendly service moving forward.

Thank you. It would also be very useful if you could show and hide the password in the iD app.

My passwords kept being rejected and I did not know why. I was almost at the point of leaving iD within a few days of activating my account, on my phone. I have not had problems like this since I started using the internet many years ago. I have now opted for a 6 digit pin for sign in on my phone.
