Thinking about a new phone? Here’s everything you need to know about upgrading with iD Mobile.

What is an Upgrade?

Upgrading allows you to get your hands on one of the latest phones without paying the full cost upfront. We’ll simply extend your plan, send you a shiny new phone, and set you up with data allowances that suit your needs.

Best of all? You keep your current number. Easy.

If you’re happy with your phone but just want a different data allowance, you might need a Plan Change instead. Check out the article below for more info:

Am I eligible to Upgrade?

This depends on what kind of plan you are currently on:

  • Pay Monthly Phone plan: You can upgrade 2 months before your contract ends.
  • SIM Only deal: You can upgrade to a Pay Monthly Phone plan after you’ve been with us for 6 months.

Check out the Community article below to find out how to upgrade:

Please note: We don't offer Early Upgrades at the moment. You must wait until you are within your upgrade window.

Why should I upgrade?

Upgrading is the best way to get better value, more data, and zero hassle. It’s the perfect time to get your hands on the latest tech without a huge upfront payment. Plus, your needs might have changed since you last joined us, so why not pick a new data allowance that suits you better? You might even find a deal that’s cheaper than your old plan.

FAQs.

Why does my bill look different after an Upgrade?

Your first bill after an upgrade might look slightly higher than usual. This is due to pro-rata charges covering the period between the upgrade and your bill date. Find out more here.

Will I be notified when I'm due an upgrade?

Yes. If you’re on a Pay Monthly phone plan, we’ll send you a notification when your contract is coming to an end. We’ll let you know your options and show you some exclusive deals, but you don't have to change plans if you don't want to.

Are any additional days added to my contract when I upgrade?

No. Your new plan starts the moment you upgrade, and you won't have to serve any remaining days from your old plan.

Can I cancel my upgrade?

If you change your mind, you can cancel your upgrade within the first 30 days (if ordered online or over the phone) or 14 days (if ordered in-store). If processed, we’ll refund any upfront costs and revert you to your old plan (if available).

Will I lose my add-ons when I upgrade?

No. Any active add-ons will simply move over to your new plan.
