Having read a few messages on the forum already this appears a common theme.
I ported over my number to a new mobile telephone with ID.
It worked for first few days but now cannot send text messages or phone anyone in my contacts.
I have an Iphone 14.
I checked my phone in settings and it is showing the temporary number for this phone and not my mobile telephone number.
I have tried to change it but it is not saving and reverting back to temporary number.
Please help.

Have you tried a Network Reset on your iPhone 14
Otherwise, sometimes you need to turn off your phone, remove the SIM card, leave the phone OFF for at least 30-minutes before inserting the SIM card, and restarting your phone.

Alot of the times the most common fix is
1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"
Otherwise, in some cases, keep iMessage OFF and try again in a few days.
