I have just got a new pixel 7 and the finger print security will not work. Please advise?

I’m sorry to hear this, does it not work after a reboot? Have you been able to register a fingerprint and then it doesn’t work to unlock?
It may be worth speaking to Google directly to see if they have any suggestions or troubleshooting methods.
