Looking for a new smartphone? Well, 2023 is the time to do it! Google and Samsung have launched a bunch of exciting devices this year already. From the Pixel 7 to the Galaxy A14 and A54. So, here’s some of the latest and greatest Android phones that you might want to check out.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Range

Galaxy S23. Galaxy S23+. Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung went big for the S23 range.

The S23 is the most budget friendly of the trio. The contour cut camera design from the last gen is gone, replaced with three stacked 50MP camera lenses. Giving it a way more minimalist look and feel. It’s tougher than ever too. The screen is built from Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is the most durable phone glass you can get. So, if you’ve got a track record of dropping your phone and cracking the screen, you’re in safe hands here.

S23+ is exactly what it sounds like. It’s similar to the standard S23, but with a few upgrades and tweaks here and there. It’s a bit bigger (with a 6.6” display) and has double the storage of the regular model (256 GB up from 128 GB). And with a larger battery, it’ll last even longer too.

The 23 Ultra is the biggest of the family, with the largest screen (6.8”) to match its name. And it’s the only one with support for the S Pen stylus. So, if you like to get creative – or you just prefer to scribble down your notes by hand instead of typing – you’ll want to go for the Ultra. It’s also equipped with the chunkiest battery of the lot. And a mega 200MP rear camera for serious pro level photography.

Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro

The Google Pixel 7 is built around the brand-new Tensor G2 processor – which was designed from the ground up just for the Pixel 7. And boy was that a good decision. It gives you loads of useful features, top-end video and photo quality and blindingly quick performance.

Want to easily edit your photos? You can do that. The Magic Eraser tool lets you get rid of any unwanted objects (or people) from your pic. Plus, with Face Unblur, you can fix out of focus faces – taking unusable snaps and turning them into the perfect photo you were after in the first place. If you’re more about the video side of things, you can record in 4K at 60 FPS with both the front and rear cameras. Making those amazing moments really spring to life. And look even better than you remember them being!

The 7 Pro is the beefed-up version of the standard 7. So, there are a few main differences (alongside the price) between the two. The first is the bigger screen and battery. Then there’s the camera system. The 7 Pro features three rear cameras – one more than the standard 7. And one of these is telephoto, which is great for zooming in further for even more detail.

Samsung Galaxy A54

Samsung’s Galaxy A54 is packed full of high-end features to speed you through your day. We’re all guilty of having about 500 apps open at once. But thanks to 8 GB of RAM and a Exynos 1380 processor, that’s really not a problem anymore. They’ll help you to multitask and whizz between apps and games without any chugging or slowdown.

Speaking of games, 5G connectivity lets you play online, or stream shows while you’re on the move. Making that long train journey to the office absolutely zoom by. They’ll look ace on the full HD+ AMOLED display too, with bold colours and a 120 Hz refresh rate that makes them even more immersive.

Some of the best memories in life are made after the sun’s gone down. And that’s where Nightography comes in. This handy tech helps you to shoot crystal clear videos and pics in the dark. So, when you hit the town, or are enjoying a gig by your favourite band, you’ll be able to properly capture the moment. And do it justice in the process.

Samsung Galaxy A14

The Galaxy A14 gives you serious bang for your buck.

With its triple camera setup, you’re ready to snap any kind of photo. Wide panoramas. Ultra-detailed, close-up macro shots. And everything else in between. There’s a dedicated lens ready to tackle every scenario. And the 13MP front camera puts the final bit of icing on the photography cake – capturing Insta-ready selfies and seriously sharp video calls.

You’ll see your snaps in all their glory on the stunning 6.6” FHD+ display. It’s got bright, rich colour and contrast in every frame, which makes it equally good for a streaming sesh. Your favourite shows will be looking better than ever! And they’ll run even smoother too. A powerful octa-core processor lets you watch Netflix, play games, and scroll through social media completely lag-free. While the long lasting 5000 mAh battery lets you stream, chat and game for hours without running out of juice.
