So I've recently picked up a contract with ID, and I wanted to switch over my number. So I did all that and the number has kind of half switched over.

I can call myself and it'll bounce straight back but when I send a text, yes it comes up as me on other people's phones but the messages don't come through on the new one, its I've been left on delivered.

So when it came to making an account on the app, I got an email saying a needed to change a pin or something, not only did it say the number they gave me didn't exist or wasn't valid- the number I normally use that has half switched doesn't work either and isn't a "valid ID phone number".

It's really confusing and I'm at a loss, can anyone help?

Okay @Holly Taylor, sounds like there might be an issue with the number transfer from your old provider to iD Mobile.

If I was in your position I’d chat to customer support using their online live chat service, or message the team privately using Facebook Messenger or a Twitter DM.

The teams work until 8pm on weekdays @Holly Taylor.

Hi @Holly Taylor

I’d recommend the following;

iPhone

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you are having issues with step 4 please reset network settings and try again.

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

or

Android

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

If you’ve been in contact with us on social media, I’d recommend keeping in contact so we can investigate the issue if this requires it.

Tom
