SIM not working after being abroad

I have a dual SIM phone and got a local SIM for a trip as ID doesn't offer any packages for data or calls.

I disabled my ID SIM upon leaving the UK so as not to incur an charges.

Upon my return my SIM is no longer being recognised by my phone.

The SIM has no sign of physical damage

I am very unhappy as this leaves me without internet or calls travelling back from the airport using public transport on a strike day

Why disable the SIM card @AJ Littlewood

Setting your iD account’s bill cap to £0 would’ve stopped any roaming charges - plus you’d have received text messages on your ‘normal’ number while roaming.

Because it is far easier to turn a SIM card on and off via the setting in my phone that mess about in the ID app which is clunky.

To clarify I didn't disable the SIM with ID but stopped my phone using the SIM card.

Other iD customers, who’ve posted in this forum about similar issues, appear to have fixed things after getting a replacement SIM card from iD.

Good luck @AJ Littlewood

Hey @AJ Littlewood,

If you’ve tried the SIM in both slots (removing the other SIM) and it’s still not working, you can get a replacement SIM for free via Currys.

Once activated, it should resolve the issues.
