Google Pixel 9 Pro trade-in offer

I’m looking at upgrading to the Pixel 9 Pro, which has an offer to get an additional £200 value when you trade-in an old phone. This offer runs from 14/08/24 - 05/09/24, but the pre-order date for the Pixel 9 Pro is 18/9/24. Does this mean I would have to trade in my current handset before I get the new one in order to get the trade-in offer?

Thanks for your help. I actually got advised to contact TradeUpHelp when I spoke to someone on the live chat app and got this response:

 

"If you are looking to trade-in your old device after taking up a new contract with ID mobile, we will be happy to wait to trade-in your new device once you have received your new handset."

 

So I've ordered the upgrade and started the trade-in process.
