By Sunday it had still not Ported so I did it again on the app and now my old Sim card which is in a "spare old phone" no longer rings but my new phone with the new ID Sim in it has not adopted my old number - do I need to do anything?
Have I confused the system by in effect making 2 porting requests?

When you call out, what number shows?
If the iD Temporary number is still showing in the app/account, the port may not have fully completed, in which case we'll need to look into this further.
