Wifi Calling on Oppo A9

Hi, I been playing around with WiFi calling as I get little signal at home. I am on Oppo A9. When I put my phone on airplane mode the WiFi calling and texting works fine, I can be heard clearly.

However when I turn airplane mode off it seems that the WiFi calling doesn't come into play. I will usually have 1 bar of signal at home and when I get a phone call it always breaks up. I assume this is because it is using my poor network signal.

Is there something I can do so that the WiFi calling takes hold with low signal?

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Hello @tmarje

I don’t believe there’s a setting that can be turned on to allow WiFi calling to take precedence over network sadly.

It just has to drop to a certain level of coverage before WiFi calling automatically kicks in.

That said, it’s good that WiFi calling is working on the handset in airplane mode which means should the signal completely drop out, or low enough for it to trigger, it will be there as a fail safe.
