Two longish trips this summer.

In June, we will drive around Scotland with my brother’s family who has never been to Scotland. We will start in Glasgow (where I went to med school in the 1980s- looking forward to the Hunterian Museum and Burrell Collection). Then we will drive through the Scottish highlands via Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Fort William (going up gondola to Aonach Mor beside Ben Nevis), admiring Glenfinnan Viaduct, before crossing over to Skye (for the fairy pools and the old man of Storr).

Then back to the mainland via the Kyle of Lochalsh to Poolewe (for Invereure Scottish National Trust garden), Golspie (for Dunrobin castle), Pitlochry and finishing in Edinburgh.

The second trip in July/Aug is to the far east for my niece’s wedding in Singapore. Whilst there, we will visit Perhentian Besar island, KB, JB and KL in Malaysia and Bali. I have not been back to that part of the world for over ten years and certainly not back to Kota Bharu (my birth place) since I left aged 10.

We have planned a trip in our motorhome down through France to the Dordogne region. Cn’t wait to sample all that lovely food (and the wine of course) and maybe a leisurely canoe trip along the river.

I’ll be horse riding in the Welsh mountains again.

Hoping to be at the Paris Olympics which would be my eleventh Olympic Games with my first at the Moscow Games in 1980.

Looking forward to New Zealand later this spring

Paphos in Cyprus for me. I've been before, but it's the first time for my wife and son. A trip to the Troodos mountains has already been booked and we will look at options at sea too.

I'll have to check that Cyprus is one of the 50 countries covered under my plan. Turkiye wasn't last Summer which was a bit of a pain. Hopefully mobile companies can get some deals done to bring Turkiye into this too as it's a massive tourist destination.

France for me

Mediterranean Cruise in June starting in Dubrovnik

Greece!
