1p Check - does this require card or account number

Hello, just a quick question, when you upgrade your sim only contract and it asks for the 1p identity check does it require your card number or your account number? I entered my card, but now thinking it wanted account number where my DD is setup. I’ve had no 1p taken from my bank yet but got confirmation email that my order was placed.
