Is it necessary to turn Airplane Mode on when abroad or turn roaming data off?

Just make sure you turn OFF roaming in your iD My Account online or the iD app.
Or, even better, set the BILL CAP for your iD account to £0 while you’re abroad.

If you turn off roaming can you still get emails and use WhatsApp?  I’m not very technical.

If you turn off roaming can you still get emails and use WhatsApp?  I’m not very technical.
If you connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network, you can email and use WhatsApp, even if roaming is OFF.
