Cancelling my contract

I upgraded my contract that was due to end ok 5 days but changed my mind and took the phone back to a car phone warehouse store. Now I want to make sure the contract is going to be cancelled as due in a few days but when I go to cancel online it tried to charge me for the new contract. Can someone help?
