I have just opened my bill for this month and it is £19 - my plan is £12. I see I have been charged from 1st October - 17th November. Why am I paying more when it should be monthly? Also, my scheduled payment for December is still £12, so I am not paying any less as I’ve paid for November this month?
Have changed the date of your plan’s Direct Debit (DD)?
Otherwise, have you downloaded the October 2022 bill and looked through the itemised charges in the “Your invoice breakdown” section of this £19 bill?
Charges are usually itemised for the following categories:
- “Mobile, National & Local Calls”
- “Voicemail”
- “Text Messaging”
- “Mobile Internet Browsing”.
Yes I have. I don’t understand why I am paying for 1st October - 17th November. I am on a monthly direct debit plan.
Well, when you move your DD payment, a one off adjustment may be required to cover the change of date because you pay for your plan’s allowances monthly in advance, and any out-of-plan use monthly in arrears.
It looks like you’ve changed your billing period from 1st of month to end of month, to 18th of month to 17th of following month, by changing your DD date.
The extra £7.01 covers the one time period of 1st Nov to 17th Nov.
Good luck
