Watched a video used approximately 233mb and lost 3gb of data can anyone give an explanation of what happened

Are other apps installed on your device, which perhaps run in the background and use mobile data
No apps running in the background that could possibly use 3gb in 20mins
Will have to get in touch with ID to find out
