Hi, this is a very specific yes/no question. I saw only one other post about the merger but this point was not clarified.

Does IDMobile now use both Three AND Vodafone masts since recent merger? yes/no

Hey @BeemanDev,

Any info on this can be found here: https://vodafoneandthree.uk/home

Some tower locations carry multiple mobile carrier networks; you can be sure that if merger/take over proceeds, the bean counters will eliminate any dual masts.

For sure! No network is going to maintain two masts covering the same area. For some, the signal may degrade, while for others, it will improve depending on which mast is decommissioned.

It was agreed by Vodafone and Three but it may never happen unless the UK regulator approves it. Vodafone is expensive and likely to restrict access to bands, speeds and also their 5G network just like they do on their current tariffs. So, don’t go expecting a better iD Mobile experience because it won’t happen!

Yes, I realised after further searching, that the merger was formerly announced a few weeks ago, but could take up to 18 months to be concluded.

No! There hasn’t been a merger.

Why iD Mobile?
