What does the competition you’ve entered say about their SMS competition entry charges and rules?

Is it possible your iD account’s bill cap wasn’t high enough to allow entry?

It says £2 charge plus one standard txt message, which I get free right?

Sounds like your text message actually cost 25p, based on your initial post.

Does the competition, you’ve tried to enter, have an online entry option where you can read all the terms & conditions?

Yes will look into it now, you maybe right, just thought the txt would have been free.

If you entered the competition using a shortcode, you might be charged - depends on the shortcode.

There’s more on iD out-of-plan charges at https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/call-charges.

Using the term “standard message rate” is often ambiguous, as the UK networks all have different ideas about what ‘standard’ means - the only sure thing being most networks include numbers beginning with 07 in a plan’s text allowance.

Anyway, good luck.

Radio competition

By shortcode?
Most radio competitions use shortcode entry - easier for their listeners to remember, leading to more entries - makes the broadcaster very happy...

Yes sorry

Anyway, check online at https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/call-charges.

Scroll down to “Text or call shortcodes”, for the online iD shortcode cost calculator (which is in section “8. Shortcodes”).
