Fair usage policy

I'm currently in Gran Canaria.

I have used almost 15 gigabytes of my 100 gigabytes plan costing £17 a month.

Is there a Fair Usage policy ?

I have had no contact to say I have used all my fair usage allowance.

I don't want to continue using data only to be hit by a £2.50 per gigabyte bill.

I have set my extra charge limit to zero.

Thanks.

Hi @Sondek01,

Spain is included in our EU Roaming.

Fair usage would be when you roam more then at home over a 4 month period.

Please see the link below:

So is the Open Data policy different to the Fair Usage policy:

"Our open data policy is designed to protect the great value we offer you. It works by adding a small surcharge of .25p per MB (£2.56 per GB) when you use data above your fair use amount while roaming in one of our band 1 inclusive roaming destinations."

I have not used the service for more than 4 months outside the UK.

So Fair Usage and Open Data policies do not kick in until more then 4 months usage outside the UK?

Is this correct?

Thanks,Michael

Hi @Sondek01, they work in conjunction. It’s not that you’d need to use the service abroad for more than 4 months, it’s that if you use it abroad more than at home during a 4-month period (i.e. if you used your services abroad for 2 months and 1 day) then your services may be suspended or restricted.

If you were in violation of the fair usage policy, we’d contact you directly.

Thank you,

Rory

That's great thanks.

I don't think that is made clear(at least not to me) in the guidelines.

I get it now.

Cheers, Michael
