I recently signed up with ID Mobile and have a contract stating a switch over date of 2nd May however got an e-mail from ID Mobile saying first direct debit would be on the 26th April. Wondering what the reason might be for the first direct debit to be taken before the switch over date?

iD Mobile start charging you on the date they dispatch your iD SIM card, whether or not you can use it, and whether or not you actually receive it.
Your Direct Debit payment is normally 2-weeks after your billing date.
With an iD pay monthly contract, you pay for your plan allowances monthly in advance.
