How to port old iD number to new iD sim?

I had a pre-existing phone and iD sim contract, and I have just bought a new phone and new iD sim contract. I would like to port my old iD number to my new phone, but it won’t let me use a PAC to port the number from one iD sim to another - is it possible to do this? I really need to keep my old number.

Hi @Mollusc, the short answer is that you can’t. The correct process would have been to upgrade the existing line; that’s the only way to keep your number. You’ll therefore need to return the new line and upgrade the old line.

Alternatively, you could PAC your number out to another network PAYG SIM, and then PAC across to the new iD line.
