I went to Amsterdam in the past month and got charges for using data outside of the EU. How does that make sense?!

Hi @MichaelDavies23

Sorry to hear this, the Netherlands is inclusive with roaming so you shouldn’t be charged for that, what are the charges labeled as on your bill?

How much have you been charged?

Tom

Hi Tom,

Rest of world roaming- is the name of the charge, and its £4.17

Did you use a ferry travelling to/from The Netherlands @MichaelDavies23

If you did and your handset was not in “Airplane Mode”, you might have used ship’s onboard satellite based mobile service, which is expensive.

Hi @MichaelDavies23

£4.17 from ‘rest of world roaming’ does appear to be as @andewhite suggests usage while on a Ferry/Boat etc

Usage while on a ferry would charge extra and costs are outlined on our site here.

Tom

Nope, it was a plane

Hi @MichaelDavies23

Okay, this would be very similar to the above mentioned charges while on a ferry, instead the category to check on the site below would be “Airlines”.

Why iD Mobile?
