I acquired a SIM card to use data whilst in Spain. It worked fine. On return to UK I find I cannot get at 3 signal where I live. So need to cancel my iD contact. They are wanting to charge me for another 30 days for a service I cannot use. Customer services Wesson time. Why do service providers not have a call centre where one can actually TALK to someone !

Sorry to hear this, it may be worth trying a network settings reset while back in the UK with your iD Mobile SIM card.
For iPhone;
Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
For Android;
Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth
Resetting network settings will NOT reset any personal data (Photos, Videos, Contacts etc) only network settings.
