pac number

Hi, when creating my order yesterday I uploaded a PAC code from Three. 
on my ID contract it says… 

Your selected switching date: As this is an in-store collection order, your number switch date
 

please can you confirm what this means? 
and when/what date my old contact number ending in 7998 will be working on this new handset as requested?
