Ported From O2 But Having Issues With Wrong Number Appearing

Hi,

 

I ported to ID recently, but apparently others are having trouble contacting me sometimes.  When I text or call it can randomly come up with my ported number or my ported one.  Sometimes it doesn’t go through at all. The live chatbot doesn’t seem to understand it and there’s no one I can physically speak to.

Any idea how to resolve this?

What handset are you using @Quag

In addition, you can just type “talk to a person” to avoid the 24/7 bot, and chat with an iD agent.

Okay @Quag, for the text issue, it sometimes happen if you’re using RCS chat with the Google Messages app on your handset, if Google’s RCS servers have linked the ‘wrong’ mobile number with your Pixel device.

The following process has helped other forums members with this issue:

  1. Turn OFF RCS chats (“Chat features”) in the Google Messages app.
  2. Turn OFF the handset and carefully remove the iD SIM card.
  3. Check the SIM card is clean and undamaged, before re-inserting the iD SIM card.
  4. Turn ON the handset.
  5. Turn ON RCS chats.

A NETWORK RESET might help fix the ‘wrong’ number issue, when making calls. 
The device user guide should explain how to to this.
