I’m currently using a sim only contract and want to purchase a new phone with a different contract but still with ID. How do I make sure I keep my original number. It won’t let me use a PAC code on the car phone warehouse site as it recognises it from the same provider. The deal is not available directly from ID

You could port the number you want to keep to a non-iD PAYG SIM, then port the number you wanted to keep back to the new iD contract purchased via Carphone Warehouse.
A bit of a faff and not very immediate, but gets around the problem of not being able to transfer a number from one iD account to another iD account.
