Last week I received two automated private messages from iDmobile
“Thanks for registering with us and a very warm welcome to the iD Mobile Community.” and “ Congratulations - you’ve ranked up!” messages.
Why am I receiving these this week when I created the community account over two years ago?

Likely in error if the feature was enabled or the emails were stuck on the system and automatically went out.
I would disregard this but you can change email notification settings from your account.
