For the first time in years, the direct debit payment failed this month and my account was suspended. After making an on-line payment the account was reinstated but that month’s payment direct debit payment also went through a day or so later. I understand that you can make a refund but how is this implemented?

Correct, but guess what, my August DD payment was delayed again and you suspended my phone account again.
I must admit I’m not fully au fait with the banking system but I suspect that late DD payment is not unusual, even for a substantial bank like mine. What is unusual, and has never happened before and has never happened to any of my other DDs with other companies, is for you to suspend my phone usage until it is resolved.
